TIVAR® VMX*
In addition to the food-approved materials, our product range also includes metal- and X-ray-detectable plastics.
This metal- and X-ray-detectable material based on PE 1000 enables manufacturers of food processing machines to handle damage and wear on machine parts made of corresponding plastics more efficiently. Should damage or wear occur to the corresponding machine part and foreign material come into contact with the processed food, this will be detected at an early stage using the methods listed below. In general, metal detectors are the most commonly used devices that serve to detect possible contamination on the processed food.
Properties
The properties of TIVAR® VMX* are:- visual, metal and X-ray detectable
- cost-effective material solution for applications requiring high impact strength
- average dimensional stability due to very low water absorption but a very high coefficient of thermal linear expansion
- well suited for cryogenic environments
- excellent release properties
