PA 6 C (polyamide 6 cast)

PA 6 C is a particularly high molecular weight, highly crystalline thermoplastic.

In the pressureless casting process, a controlled chemical reaction in special molds polymerizes caprolactam directly into semi-finished products. Additives, such as oil, solid lubricants or heat stabilizers, allow the typical properties of cast polyamide to be specifically aligned and adapted for certain applications. A tailored range of materials is thus available for a broad field of applications.

Properties

The properties of PA 6 C are:
  • high mechanical strength and rigidity
  • toughness at high hardness
  • good wear properties
  • good heat ageing resistance
  • very high wear resistance
  • very good sliding and emergency running properties
  • almost free from internal stress
  • high resistance to high-energy radiation (gamma and X-radiation)
  • good electrical insulation properties
  • high mechanical damping capacity
  • good machinability
