PA 4.6 (polyamide 4.6)
PA 4.6 is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic with very high heat resistance.
Due to its better stiffness and creep resistance, this material can be used in a wide temperature range. At the same time, its heat aging resistance at higher temperatures (80-150°C) is clearly superior to that of all PA types, as well as POM and PET.
Properties
The properties of PA 4.6 are:- high mechanical strength, stiffness, hardness and toughness
- good fatigue resistance
- high mechanical damping capacity
- good sliding and emergency running properties
- very high wear resistance
- good electrical insulation properties
- high resistance to high-energy radiation (gamma and X-rays)
- good machinability
- high water absorption
Applications
PA 4.6 can be applied in the following areas:- Components for use in the higher temperature range (80-150°C)
